A new Hot Metal Pretreatment Plant (No.3 BOF) was started-up at the No.3 Steel Making Plant of JFE Steel West Japan Works (Fukuyama) on January 15, 2015 and a ceremony was held to celebrate its successful first hot run.
The purpose of the new Hot Metal Pretreatment process is to prevent a decrease in reaction efficiency during the dephosphorization process by discharging silicon dioxide (SiO2) generated at the desiliconization process. Compared to the conventional process, this process makes it possible to reduce the amount of lime needed dramatically and contributes to the saving of energy and resources.
JP Steel Plantech (“SPCO”)’s scope of supply comprises the trunnion ring, converter tilting equipment, gas cleaning equipment (OG), lance and sublance. SPCO delivered these facilities as scheduled and it contributed to the successful start-up in the shortest period.
SPCO will continue to meet diversifying customers’ needs with abundant achievements and optimum technologies.
